Richard Perez makes some really great work. I was going to say pieces of work, but come on let’s not kid around. All of his work is pretty much the shit. I love the negative space in this one.

This is a really cool example of a stationary system. Nice use of color and materials, but a more interesting use of photography as a branding element. As a photographer it totally makes sense. The graphic distortion of his images is very daring for a photographer. The photographers I know would die. Their images are these precious things, some type of truth, this guy obviously doesn’t hold his images too some godly standard.

I think he is interested in the impact of his images and understands that there is value in distorting his work to become more impactful.

I really wanted to do this with the large armored figured from the Lord of the Rings. Think about that, just walking up to a huge ancient figure in the ground. Crazy! I know, I thought of this tens years ago.

I think that “Where the Wild Things” was my favorite book. It was the first book that I remember. As a young boy it have quite an impression on me to go live a life of adventure, but be thankful that you have a home to come back to.

This is a perfect counter to Apples galaxy themed interface. If Microsoft wanted to win it has to start thinking about their interface components. I know they have office and that in general business runs on the office suite. But lets face it, there’s nothing sweet about the Office suite.

9-bits: Verge forum user, Sputnik8, has posted a series of gorgeous UI concepts showing a Metro-inspired Windows desktop. I’d be reaching out to this guy in a heartbeat if I were Microsoft.

COlors and illustrations are sweet. The added ink on screen photo is awesome. I am really getting into processes lately. The final image is just an end state of a fairly sophisticated process of creating a reliable series of pieces. The final image is just one moment in that amazing repeatable process.

I have no idea what this is, but I love it. A computer tech thing that represents an image is now a physical object in an image. Plus, love that there is some high gloss finish to these pieces. Is it bad to say that I would want one of these.
