Social Identifiers and social design trends are a big part of what I do, these are already finding their way into my blog and will have a place here in the coming future.
A pulse on design trends, usability/design/graphic quotes, amazing photography, and links to keep everyone busy, plus a few songs that are currently stuck on repeat.
This is getting to be a bit Apple focused and iPhone crazy. If you can't tell I love tech gadgets and the iPhone is my gadget of choice. I will be building an Apple gadget specific website soon so this area will be free'd up for more design related topics.
The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog - Cards. A typeface memory game, designed by ps.2 in collaboration with BIS Publishers from the Netherlands.
“A typeface memory game. With twenty-five pairs of cards, each presenting a different type family, this is a very stylish and interesting typographic concentration game. The kit includes a typographical glossary with the main terms used in typography as well as a text about the evolution of type design, locating in history each one of the fonts used in the game.”
The game is available on Amazon.com
Love the simple animation. Gifs are not gone.
Fabien Barral. Great idea for a poster. Love the close ups. It really has beautiful color and the attention to detail is great. Well Done.

Sick type work done by the Justin Thomas Kay. He has since gone on to kicking ass in NYC. You have seen his work and never even known it.

Just a few shots of my office. I have a feeling that I’m going to be buying a number of typography books today. I found these on the server. I don’t think that they are a huge part of the overall 7Summits Culture.
But this is a huge part of my day!
This gorgeous design is from a photo back made in the late 1800s. It was a pretty big deal to have your photo taken in the 1800s and so, naturally, it was delivered to the buyer in a well-designed thick paper holder. The photographer would use the container as a way to advertise their studio to the customer’s friends who would surely ‘ooo’ and ‘ahh’ over it.

Nice attention to detail in the blue/gold light flares. Daniel Reuber from Cologne, Germany

Like the obsession. I’ve been telling artist at MIAD to take a medium and turn it on its head. These things will grab people’s attention.

NOTE TO SELF:
theoinglis: “Agency Hi-ReS! London recently invited Maricor (of MaricorMaricar fame) in to their offices to brighten up the place… and in case you’re wondering the quote is from Samuel Beckett. We couldn’t agree more with the sentiments.”
Wow this is good! More pics of the process here. MaricorMaricar are a brilliant design duo, check out their work here http://maricormaricar.com/

Really cool concept and execution. There are so many details in this piece. I’m going to try and find out if it’s being made anywhere. I will update this post if I find it.

It looks simple, but the creation of this is complex for the average designer.
justinthomaskay: stevie.
This reminds me of a project that every MIAD CD major does in their Sophomore year. This looks way better than anything I have ever seen out of those type classes. Sorry Phil!
